Grafters (film)

Grafters is a 1928 British silent drama film directed by Arthur Varney Serrao and starring Ian Hunter, Nora Baring, and Cecil Humphreys. The film centers on the lives and work of railway construction workers, depicting the dangers and challenges they face. It is notable for its use of location shooting on actual railway construction sites, providing a realistic portrayal of the industry at the time. The film is considered a significant early example of British social realism in cinema, although it also incorporates elements of melodrama. It is preserved by the British Film Institute (BFI).
