Pankstraße (Berlin U-Bahn)
Pankstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U8 line in the Gesundbrunnen district. It is situated under the intersection of Pankstraße and Badstraße.
The station opened on August 28, 1977, as part of the northern extension of the U8 line. Its design, like many stations on this section of the line, was created by Rainer G. Rümmler. The walls are clad in orange and brown tiles, a characteristic feature of 1970s West Berlin U-Bahn architecture.
Pankstraße station serves as an important transport hub for residents and visitors in the northern Gesundbrunnen area, connecting them to destinations throughout the city via the U8 line, which runs north to Wittenau and south to Hermannstraße.
The station has one island platform serving both directions of the U8 line. Access is provided by stairs and escalators, making it partially accessible. Future plans may include full accessibility upgrades.
