Olustvere

Olustvere is a small borough (Estonian: alevik) located in Põhja-Sakala Parish, Viljandi County, Estonia. It is known primarily for the Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics (formerly Olustvere Agriculture School), a vocational and higher education institution specializing in agriculture and rural development.

Olustvere also boasts a well-preserved manor complex, the Olustvere Manor (Estonian: Olustvere mõis), which dates back to at least the 16th century. The manor includes a main building, various outbuildings, and a park. The complex is a significant example of Estonian manor architecture and cultural heritage. Today, the Olustvere Manor operates as a museum and cultural center, offering visitors insights into the history of the estate and rural life in Estonia. It features exhibitions, craft workshops, and events.

Historically, Olustvere was an important agricultural center, and its development was closely tied to the Olustvere Manor. The settlement's growth was further stimulated by the establishment and expansion of the agricultural school.
