Max Alvis

Max Alvis (1938-2013) was an American professional baseball player. He played as an infielder in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1962 to 1969, primarily for the Cleveland Indians.

Alvis was known for his strong defensive skills and versatility, playing multiple infield positions, including third base, shortstop, and second base. He was also noted for his offensive power, hitting a career-high 21 home runs in 1964.

He was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as an amateur free agent in 1958. He was later traded to the Cleveland Indians. After his time with Cleveland, he also played briefly for the Milwaukee Brewers. Following his MLB career, Alvis worked as a baseball coach and scout.
