Neville Miller (politician)

Neville Miller (1893-1977) was an American politician, lawyer, and public official. He served as the Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, from 1941 to 1945.

Born in Louisville, Miller graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. He entered private practice before dedicating himself to public service. As Mayor of Louisville during World War II, Miller focused on supporting the war effort, managing wartime industries within the city, and addressing issues of housing and social services related to the influx of wartime workers.

Following his mayoral term, Miller served as counsel to the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) from 1938-1944 and as its president from 1945 to 1951. In this capacity, he advocated for the broadcasting industry and navigated the complex regulatory landscape of the postwar era. He was a proponent of industry self-regulation and worked to establish standards of practice for radio and television broadcasting.

Miller was a significant figure in both Kentucky politics and the national broadcasting industry during a period of substantial change and growth.
