Max Catto
Max Catto (born January 26, 1907, Manchester, England; died March 30, 1992, Nice, France) was a British novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. He was known for his thrillers, crime novels, and adventure stories, often featuring elements of suspense and humor. Catto's works frequently involved international settings and complex characters. He also wrote under the pseudonyms "Simon Kent" and "Robert Forbes."
Some of his notable works include the novels Gold in the Sky, Murphy’s War (which was adapted into a film starring Peter O'Toole), I Have Friends in Heaven, Melchior, and The Killing Frost. He also wrote several plays and screenplays.
