Fifth (The Autumn Defense album)

Fifth is the fourth studio album by the American indie rock band The Autumn Defense, released on January 28, 2014, by Yep Roc Records. The Autumn Defense is a side project of John Stirratt and Pat Sansone of the band Wilco.

The album title, Fifth, refers to it being their fifth overall release (including the Circles EP). The album was recorded over a period of time, utilizing various studios and home recording setups, showcasing the band's collaborative and patient approach to songwriting and production. It features the band's signature blend of sunshine pop, folk-rock, and harmony-rich melodies, reminiscent of 1960s and 1970s soft rock.
