Motherwell and Wishaw (Scottish Parliament constituency)

Motherwell and Wishaw is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood). It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first-past-the-post method of election. It is one of nine constituencies within the Central Scotland region. The constituency was created in 1999 with the name Motherwell and Bellshill, but was renamed in 2011 to Motherwell and Wishaw to better reflect the constituency's boundaries.

The constituency covers the towns of Motherwell and Wishaw, as well as surrounding villages and communities within the North Lanarkshire council area. The boundaries include areas formerly within the Clydesdale constituency.

Historically, Motherwell and Wishaw, and its predecessor Motherwell and Bellshill, have been strongholds for the Scottish Labour Party. The seat has changed hands in recent elections, reflecting wider shifts in the Scottish political landscape.
