Diamond Peak (ski area)

Diamond Peak is a ski resort located in Incline Village, Nevada, on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. It is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, stunning views of Lake Tahoe, and moderate terrain.

The resort features six chairlifts servicing 655 acres of skiable terrain. The vertical drop is 1,840 feet, with a summit elevation of 8,540 feet. Diamond Peak offers a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs, making it suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.

In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, Diamond Peak offers cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. The resort also has a terrain park for freestyle riders.

Diamond Peak is owned and operated by the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID), a public utility district serving the residents of Incline Village and Crystal Bay. This unique ownership structure allows Diamond Peak to prioritize affordability and community access. The resort is known for its relatively low ticket prices compared to other Lake Tahoe ski resorts.

Historically, the area that Diamond Peak occupies was initially considered for a much larger, more commercially oriented development. IVGID's acquisition and management of the resort ensured that it remained a smaller, community-focused ski area.

Diamond Peak typically opens in December and closes in April, depending on snow conditions. The resort emphasizes environmental sustainability, implementing practices to reduce its carbon footprint and protect the Lake Tahoe watershed.
