Bill Bowman (baseball)
William "Bill" Bowman (born May 14, 1945) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros (1967-1969) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1970-1971).
Bowman was primarily a relief pitcher during his MLB career. He made his major league debut on April 15, 1967, for the Houston Astros. His best season came in 1968 with the Astros, where he appeared in 48 games and recorded an ERA of 2.54.
In December 1969, Bowman was traded from the Astros to the St. Louis Cardinals. He continued to pitch in a relief role for the Cardinals for two seasons before his MLB career ended in 1971. Following his playing career, Bowman worked as a scout for several MLB organizations.
