Brent West (UK Parliament constituency)
Brent West is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. It is scheduled to be created for the next United Kingdom general election, likely in 2024.
The constituency is being formed as a result of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, conducted by the Boundary Commission for England. It will largely replace the existing Brent Central constituency.
Geographically, Brent West will cover the western part of the London Borough of Brent. Areas expected to be included within its boundaries are Alperton, Brondesbury Park, Harlesden, Kensal Green, Kenton, Northwick Park, Preston, Stonebridge, Sudbury, Tokyngton, Wembley Central, Wembley Park, and Willesden.
The creation of Brent West and other revised constituencies is aimed at ensuring that each MP represents roughly the same number of electors, reflecting population changes across the country. The exact boundaries are subject to any further revisions or legal challenges before the next general election is called. The current Member of Parliament for Brent Central is Dawn Butler (Labour). The political complexion of Brent West will depend on the voting patterns of the newly configured constituency.
