Milt May

Milt May (born August 1, 1950) is a former professional baseball player. He was a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1970 to 1983.

May was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round of the 1968 MLB draft. He played for the Pirates (1970-1976), Houston Astros (1976-1978), Detroit Tigers (1978-1980), Chicago White Sox (1980-1982), and San Francisco Giants (1982-1983).

Known for his strong defensive skills and ability to handle pitching staffs, May was a reliable backstop throughout his career. While he wasn't a power hitter, he contributed offensively with a respectable batting average and on-base percentage. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates' World Series-winning team in 1971.
