Strašín

Strašín is a village in the Klatovy District, Plzeň Region, Czech Republic. It is located approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of Sušice and 62 kilometers (38 miles) southwest of Plzeň.

The village is primarily known for its historic Church of St. Lawrence (Kostel svatého Vavřince), a notable example of Baroque architecture. The church dominates the village landscape and is a protected cultural monument.

The municipality covers an area of 9.14 square kilometers (3.53 sq mi), and as of 2023, it had a population of approximately 330.

Strašín is located in a rural area, surrounded by forests and agricultural land. Tourism, largely based on the church and the natural environment, contributes to the local economy. The village offers a peaceful setting and serves as a gateway to the Šumava Mountains (Bohemian Forest).
