Phil McGuire (footballer)

Phil McGuire (born 10 March 1981) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a defender.

McGuire began his career with Aberdeen, making his debut in 1999. He spent nine seasons with the club, becoming a regular in the first team. During his time at Pittodrie, he gained a reputation as a tough-tackling and committed defender. He also captained the team.

In 2008, McGuire moved to Dunfermline Athletic. He played for the Pars for two seasons before being released.

After leaving Dunfermline, McGuire had a spell with Inverness Caledonian Thistle. He then moved into junior football, playing for various clubs including Formartine United and Banks O' Dee.

McGuire also represented Scotland at various youth levels.
