Aaron Carpenter (rugby union)
Aaron Carpenter (born January 9, 1983, in Brantford, Ontario) is a Canadian rugby union player. He primarily plays as a number eight, but can also play as a flanker. He is a veteran of the Canadian national team, having represented Canada in multiple Rugby World Cups (2007, 2011, 2015), and has earned over 70 caps.
Carpenter has played professionally for various clubs, including Cornish Pirates in England, and RC Narbonne and Racing Métro 92 in France. He also played for the Doncaster Knights in England.
Carpenter is known for his strong ball-carrying ability, physical presence on the field, and work rate. He has been a consistent performer for both club and country throughout his career and is regarded as a key leader within the Canadian rugby team. He retired from international rugby following the 2019 Rugby World Cup qualification process.
