Chen Xu (diplomat)
Chen Xu (陈旭) (born November 1952) is a Chinese diplomat and the current Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland. He assumed office in February 2019.
Prior to his current role, Chen Xu served in various capacities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. He has held positions focusing on international organizations and arms control. He previously served as the Director-General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His diplomatic career has involved representing China in numerous international forums and negotiations. He is known for his contributions to multilateral diplomacy and his representation of China's positions on a wide range of global issues at the United Nations.
