John McLeod (footballer, born 1888)

John McLeod (born 1888, date of death unknown) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as an outside left.

McLeod began his career with junior clubs including Shawfield and Parkhead, before signing for Scottish League First Division side Clyde in 1912. He remained with Clyde until 1914, making several appearances for the club.

In 1914, he moved south to England and joined Football League Second Division side Lincoln City. He played for Lincoln City for the 1914–15 season.

His career was then interrupted by the First World War. After the war ended, McLeod returned to Scotland but it is not known if he resumed his footballing career at a professional level. Details of his later life and death are currently unavailable.
