Jack Kerr (cricketer)

Jack Kerr (born 20 January 1910, died 28 May 2007) was a New Zealand cricketer who played in two Test matches in 1947. A right-arm medium-pace bowler and useful lower-order batsman, Kerr played first-class cricket for Auckland from 1935 to 1950.

Kerr's Test appearances came against England in the 1946-47 series. He made his debut in the second Test at Lancaster Park, Christchurch, and played in the third Test at Basin Reserve, Wellington. He took one wicket in each match, dismissing Denis Compton and Alec Bedser respectively.

In first-class cricket, Kerr took 149 wickets at an average of 27.95, with a best of 7 for 44 against Otago in 1946-47. He also scored 1,017 runs at an average of 16.14, with a highest score of 55 not out against Wellington in 1948-49.

After retiring from cricket, Kerr worked as a cricket administrator and coach. He was also involved in local government. His son, John Kerr, also played first-class cricket for Auckland. He was New Zealand's oldest living Test cricketer at the time of his death.
