Kaputt (band)

Kaputt was a Norwegian jazz-influenced experimental rock band, known for their intricate compositions, unconventional instrumentation, and dynamic live performances. Formed in Trondheim in 2007, the band drew heavily from influences spanning free jazz, krautrock, and chamber pop, creating a distinctive sound often characterized by its complex rhythms, melodic interplay, and avant-garde sensibilities.

The band's core members included musicians skilled in various instruments, frequently featuring violin, cello, guitar, bass, and drums. Their music often eschewed traditional song structures, favoring extended instrumental passages and improvisational elements.

Kaputt released several albums to critical acclaim, earning a reputation for pushing boundaries and challenging conventional genre classifications. Kaputt disbanded in 2018.
