Juan Montes (baseball)

Juan Montes (born August 25, 1970 in Carolina, Puerto Rico) is a former professional baseball player. A right-handed pitcher, Montes played briefly in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida Marlins in 1995.

Montes was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1989. He worked his way through the Cardinals' minor league system before being traded to the Florida Marlins in 1994.

He made his MLB debut with the Marlins on July 10, 1995, and appeared in a total of 7 games that season. He recorded a 0-0 record with an ERA of 7.20.

After his brief stint in the majors, Montes continued to play in the minor leagues, including time in the Mexican League. His professional career extended several years beyond his MLB appearance.
