Ronald González (Chilean footballer)
Ronald Hugo González Tabilo (born 16 October 1960) is a retired Chilean football defender and former manager.
Career
González played primarily as a central defender and spent the majority of his playing career in Chile. He is best known for his time with Universidad de Chile, where he was a key player for many years. He also had spells with other Chilean clubs, including Magallanes and Unión Española. González was known for his strong tackling, aerial ability, and leadership qualities.
González represented the Chilean national team on numerous occasions, participating in several Copa América tournaments. He was a member of the Chilean squad that competed in the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain.
After retiring as a player, González transitioned into coaching. He managed several clubs in the Chilean Primera División and Primera B. He also held positions within the youth setup of Universidad de Chile. Throughout his managerial career, he was recognized for his tactical acumen and his ability to develop young players.
