Ooyala
Ooyala was a video technology company providing a platform for online video publishing, analytics, and monetization. Founded in 2007, it offered solutions for broadcasters, media companies, and brands to manage and distribute video content across multiple devices.
Ooyala's primary offerings included a video player, video ad serving capabilities, and a robust analytics dashboard to track viewer engagement and performance metrics. These tools were designed to help content owners optimize their video strategies and maximize revenue generation.
The company underwent several acquisitions throughout its history. In 2014, it was acquired by Telstra, an Australian telecommunications company. Subsequently, in 2018, Ooyala's assets were acquired by Brightcove, a competitor in the online video platform space. Following the acquisition by Brightcove, the Ooyala brand was gradually phased out, with its technology and customer base integrated into Brightcove's existing platform. As of late 2019, the Ooyala platform was officially discontinued.
