James Blackwell (rugby union)
James Blackwell is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby. He primarily plays as a lock.
Blackwell debuted for Wellington in the Mitre 10 Cup (now Bunnings NPC) in 2016. His strong performances at the provincial level earned him a Super Rugby contract with the Hurricanes, whom he joined in 2018.
Blackwell is known for his physicality, strong tackling, and work rate in the tight phases of the game. He is a valuable asset to the Hurricanes pack.
