Miller Field (baseball)

Miller Field is a baseball park located in Staten Island, New York City. It served as the home of the Staten Island Yankees, a Minor League Baseball team that played in the New York–Penn League. The stadium opened on June 24, 2001. It is named after former Staten Island Borough President James P. Molinaro's chief of staff, Joseph Miller, who was instrumental in securing funding for the stadium's construction.

Miller Field's capacity was approximately 7,171 spectators. The stadium offered views of Lower Manhattan and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

Following the 2020 season, Major League Baseball restructured the minor league system, eliminating short-season A leagues like the New York-Penn League. As a result, the Staten Island Yankees were not offered an invitation to remain an affiliated team.

After losing their MLB affiliation, the Staten Island Yankees joined the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an independent league, for the 2021 season. However, the team ceased operations after that season.

The future of Miller Field is currently uncertain. The stadium has hosted other events, including concerts and high school sports.
