Emulex

Emulex Corporation was a leading provider of connectivity and data access solutions for servers, storage, and networks. Headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, Emulex specialized in designing and manufacturing host bus adapters (HBAs), network interface cards (NICs), converged network adapters (CNAs), and embedded storage products. These products were primarily used in enterprise-class data centers and cloud computing environments.

Emulex solutions enabled high-performance connectivity for a variety of storage protocols, including Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). Their products were designed to improve application performance, maximize resource utilization, and simplify data center management.

The company served a wide range of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs), and system integrators. Emulex technology was commonly found in servers, storage arrays, and networking equipment from major vendors.

In February 2015, Avago Technologies (later Broadcom Inc.) acquired Emulex Corporation. Following the acquisition, Emulex's product lines and technologies were integrated into Broadcom's broader portfolio of networking and storage solutions. The Emulex brand name is no longer actively used in connection with these products, which are now offered under the Broadcom name.
