Billy Stewart (Australian footballer)

William "Billy" Stewart (born 7 February 1936, died 7 November 2008) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Stewart debuted for Collingwood in 1955 and played predominantly as a rover. He was a member of Collingwood's 1955 premiership team, kicking two goals in the grand final against Richmond. He played 47 games for Collingwood before being cleared to Fitzroy in 1959.

At Fitzroy, Stewart continued to play as a rover, adding another 35 games to his VFL career. He retired from VFL football at the end of the 1961 season. He was known for his speed and tenacity around the ball.
