Metrea

Metrea is a term primarily used within the Star Citizen universe, a persistent world massively multiplayer online game (MMO) developed by Cloud Imperium Games. It refers to a type of in-game currency or credit used predominantly in the Pyro system.

While the primary currency across most of the United Empire of Earth (UEE) is United Earth Credits (UEC), Metrea acts as a local currency within the Pyro system, a lawless and largely unregulated region. Players often need to acquire Metrea to purchase goods, services, and pay for repairs within Pyro.

The exchange rate between Metrea and UEC fluctuates based on in-game factors and is subject to change by the game developers. As Pyro is a distinct region with its own economy, having a separate currency emphasizes its separation from the UEE's more controlled economic zones.
