CSK Auto
CSK Auto, formerly known as Checker, Schuck's, Kragen, and ultimately as CSK Auto Corporation, was a large retailer of automotive parts and accessories in the western United States. The company's history traces back to several regional auto parts chains which eventually merged to form CSK Auto. At its peak, CSK Auto operated hundreds of retail locations under the Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply, and Kragen Auto Parts banners.
The company offered a wide range of products for both professional mechanics and do-it-yourself car enthusiasts, including replacement parts, performance accessories, tools, and fluids. Beyond retail sales, CSK Auto also provided services such as battery testing and installation, as well as wiper blade installation.
In 2008, CSK Auto was acquired by O'Reilly Automotive, Inc. As a result of the acquisition, the CSK Auto brand names were gradually phased out, and the stores were rebranded under the O'Reilly Auto Parts name. The acquisition significantly expanded O'Reilly's presence in the western states and strengthened its position as a leading automotive parts retailer nationwide. The legacy of CSK Auto remains in the physical locations now operating as O'Reilly Auto Parts and in the collective experience of the employees who transitioned to the acquiring company.
