Michael Stephens (soccer)
Michael Stephens (born April 3, 1989) is an American former professional soccer player. He primarily played as a midfielder.
Career
Stephens played college soccer for the UCLA Bruins from 2007 to 2009. During his college career, he also played with Ventura County Fusion in the USL Premier Development League.
He was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the first round (16th overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. Stephens played for the Galaxy from 2010 to 2013, winning two MLS Cup titles in 2011 and 2012.
In 2014, Stephens was traded to the Chicago Fire. He spent one season with the Fire before being traded to Stabæk in the Norwegian Tippeligaen in 2015. He returned to MLS in 2016, signing with Seattle Sounders FC, where he won another MLS Cup title. He was then waived by Seattle.
Stephens last played professionally for Rayo OKC in the North American Soccer League (NASL) in 2017.
