Matthew Smith (rower)

Matthew Smith (born December 20, 1977) is a former American rower. He competed in the men's quadruple sculls event at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, finishing in 5th place. Smith was a member of the United States National Rowing Team for several years. His rowing career also included participation in several World Rowing Championships, where he achieved multiple top-ten finishes. Before his international career, Smith rowed for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, contributing to their successful rowing program. After retiring from competitive rowing, Smith has remained involved in the sport, providing coaching and mentorship to aspiring rowers.
