Rudy Fernández (baseball)
Rudy Fernández is a former professional baseball infielder. He played primarily shortstop and second base in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox (1995-1996) and the Kansas City Royals (2001).
Fernández was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1986. He spent several years in the minor leagues before being traded to the Chicago White Sox organization. He made his major league debut with the White Sox in 1995.
After his time with the White Sox, Fernández continued playing in the minor leagues and independent leagues. He returned to the major leagues with the Kansas City Royals in 2001, playing in a limited role.
Following his playing career, Fernández has been involved in coaching and scouting. He also participated in the Mexican Pacific League. Details regarding his personal life and post-baseball career are limited.
