Hirai Station (Tokyo)
Hirai Station (平井駅, Hirai-eki) is a railway station on the Chūō-Sōbu Line in Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
Location:
The station is situated in the Hirai neighborhood of Edogawa ward, a primarily residential area of eastern Tokyo. It is located relatively close to the Arakawa River.
Lines:
Hirai Station is served by the Chūō-Sōbu Line (Local). Although technically a single line, the Chūō and Sōbu lines operate together, providing local service between Mitaka and Chiba.
Station Layout:
The station has two elevated opposed side platforms serving two tracks. The ticket gates are located underneath the platforms. The station is equipped with elevators and escalators for accessibility.
History:
Hirai Station opened on April 12, 1894. The station was elevated in the late 20th century to eliminate level crossings.

The area surrounding Hirai Station is primarily residential, with numerous shops, restaurants, and local businesses. Hirai Ginza shopping street is a prominent local shopping area near the station. Several schools and parks are also located nearby.
