Drajna (river)
The Drajna is a small river located in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a tributary of the Spreča river. The Drajna flows through a relatively rural area, characterized by rolling hills and agricultural land. Information regarding the length of the river, its specific source, and the size of its drainage basin is limited and often varies across sources. Local communities rely on the river for limited agricultural purposes and, in some areas, as a source of drinking water (though treatment is generally required). The Drajna is also subject to seasonal fluctuations in water level, with higher flows during periods of increased rainfall and snowmelt. Due to its smaller size, the Drajna does not typically feature prominently in large-scale water resource management plans for the region. Environmental concerns related to the Drajna, like many smaller rivers in the Balkans, include potential pollution from agricultural runoff and untreated wastewater.
