Song Hae
Song Hae (송해, born Song Bok-hee 송복희; 27 April 1927 – 8 June 2022) was a South Korean television personality, singer, and comedian. He was best known as the host of the KBS program Korea Sings (전국노래자랑, Jeonguk Norae Jarang) from 1988 until his death in 2022. His tenure on the show made him a cultural icon in South Korea, known for his affable personality, dedication to connecting with ordinary citizens across the country, and longevity in the entertainment industry. He was often referred to as the "Nation's MC" or "Grandfather of Korea." Before hosting Korea Sings, Song Hae had a long career in entertainment, beginning with his involvement in a performing arts troupe during the Korean War.
