Leeds (European Parliament constituency)

Leeds was a European Parliament constituency covering the metropolitan borough of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It existed from 1979 to 1999.

Prior to 1979, the area was part of the Yorkshire West constituency. Upon its creation in 1979, Leeds elected one Member of the European Parliament (MEP) using the first-past-the-post electoral system.

The constituency was abolished in 1999, when the entire United Kingdom was reorganized into larger, multi-member regional constituencies elected by proportional representation. Leeds became part of the Yorkshire and the Humber constituency.
