Burning Star (album)
Burning Star is the debut studio album by the German power metal band Iron Savior. It was released in 1997 via Noise Records. The album introduced the band's signature sound, a blend of traditional heavy metal influences with science fiction lyrical themes.
The album features Piet Sielck on vocals and guitar, Kai Hansen (also of Helloween and Gamma Ray) on guitar and vocals, and Thomen Stauch (of Blind Guardian) on drums, although Jan-Sören Eckert played bass. The storyline introduced in Burning Star revolves around the fictional starship Iron Savior and the epic battle between humanity and a destructive alien force, a recurring theme throughout much of Iron Savior's discography. The album includes tracks such as "Iron Savior," "Watcher in the Sky," and "Riding on Fire," which are considered to be staples in the band's live performances. Burning Star is generally regarded as a significant album in the power metal genre and helped establish Iron Savior as a prominent band in the scene.
