Josef Fuchs (cyclist)

Josef Fuchs (born 13 January 1948) is a former Swiss professional cyclist. He was a professional from 1973 to 1986.

Fuchs is best known for his successes in one-day classics and stage races. His most notable victory was winning the 1981 Liège–Bastogne–Liège, one of the five "Monuments" of cycling.

Other significant achievements in his career include:

• Winning the Tour de Suisse in 1973
• Finishing second in the 1976 Giro d'Italia
• Swiss National Road Race Champion in 1972 and 1975
• Multiple stage wins in various stage races

Fuchs was a consistent performer throughout his career and a respected figure in the peloton. After retiring from professional cycling, he remained involved in the sport, working in various roles. He is considered one of the more successful Swiss cyclists of his era.
