Luis Marín (footballer, born 1906)
Luis Marín Sabater (September 4, 1906 – December 21, 1974) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. He is most notable for his time with FC Barcelona during the 1920s and 1930s.
Career:
Marín began his career with FC Barcelona in 1926, quickly establishing himself as a key member of the team's defense. He was known for his strong tackling, positional sense, and leadership qualities. During his tenure with Barcelona, he won several titles, including the Catalan Championship multiple times and the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey) in 1928. He remained with FC Barcelona until 1936.
National Team:
Marín also represented the Spanish national team, earning several caps. He was part of the Spanish squad at the 1934 FIFA World Cup held in Italy, though he did not play in any of the matches.
Later Life:
After retiring from professional football, Marín remained connected to the sport, though details of his post-playing career are scarce. He passed away in Barcelona in 1974.
