Tikkun (film)

Tikkun is a 2015 Israeli drama film directed by Avishai Sivan. The film explores themes of religious extremism, guilt, and redemption within the context of a Haredi Jewish community in Jerusalem. It tells the story of Haim-Aaron, a young, devout yeshiva student who experiences a near-death experience after a self-induced fast and subsequent collapse. Following his apparent resurrection, Haim-Aaron displays a changed and unsettling demeanor, leading his father to grapple with questions of faith, responsibility, and the nature of divine intervention. The film is noted for its stark cinematography, minimalist dialogue, and unsettling atmosphere, contributing to its exploration of psychological and spiritual turmoil.
