Phom Naga

The Phom Naga are a major Naga tribe inhabiting the Longleng district of Nagaland, India. They are one of the recognized Scheduled Tribes of Nagaland.

Culture and Society:

The Phom Naga are known for their traditional agricultural practices, primarily focused on jhum cultivation (slash-and-burn agriculture). They have a rich tradition of weaving, wood carving, and pottery. The Phom language belongs to the Tibeto-Burman language family. It has several dialects spoken within the Phom community.
