Mylnhurst
Mylnhurst is a former independent Catholic day school for girls located in Ecclesall, Sheffield, England. Founded in 1912 by the Sisters of Mercy, it provided education from nursery level through to sixth form. The school was situated in a large Victorian building and associated grounds. Mylnhurst prided itself on its small class sizes and emphasis on pastoral care.
The curriculum covered a broad range of subjects, consistent with the national curriculum, and aimed to prepare students for further education at university. Mylnhurst also offered a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports, music, and drama.
Mylnhurst School closed permanently in July 2020 due to declining enrollment numbers and financial difficulties. The site has since been redeveloped. Historical records and archives related to the school are likely held by the Sisters of Mercy or within local Sheffield archives.
