Charles Bennett (screenwriter)

Charles Bennett (August 2, 1899 – June 15, 1995) was a British screenwriter and playwright, primarily known for his work on several Alfred Hitchcock films.

Bennett began his career as an actor and playwright, writing stage plays in the 1920s. He gained prominence when Hitchcock adapted his play Blackmail (1929) into Hitchcock's first sound film. This marked the beginning of a successful collaboration.
