Józef Kut

Józef Kut (1905-1942) was a Polish Roman Catholic priest. He is venerated as one of the 108 Martyrs of World War II by the Catholic Church, having been beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1999.

Kut was born in Krasne, Poland. He was ordained a priest in 1930. He served as a parish priest in several locations, including the parish of Bardo.

During the Nazi occupation of Poland, Kut was arrested by the Gestapo in 1941. He was imprisoned and subjected to harsh treatment. He was eventually deported to the Dachau concentration camp, where he died of starvation and disease in 1942.

Józef Kut is remembered for his pastoral work, his piety, and his courage in the face of persecution. His feast day is celebrated on June 12.
