Bill Cannon (footballer)

Bill Cannon (born March 27, 1937, died May 2, 2011) was an American football player who played halfback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles (1959-1960) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1961).

Cannon played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU). He was a member of the 1958 LSU Tigers national championship team. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round (second overall) of the 1959 NFL Draft but was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cannon was part of the Eagles team that won the 1960 NFL Championship, defeating the Green Bay Packers. His professional career was relatively short, ending after the 1961 season.
