Kovrov

Kovrov is a city in Vladimir Oblast, Russia, located on the Klyazma River, approximately 250 kilometers (160 miles) east of Moscow. It serves as the administrative center of Kovrovsky District, although it is administratively separate from it.

History:

Kovrov's history dates back to the 12th century, when it was a small settlement. It grew in importance in the 18th century due to its textile industry and later, in the Soviet era, became a major industrial center, particularly for manufacturing military equipment and motorcycles.

As a municipal division, the city of oblast significance of Kovrov is incorporated as Kovrov Urban Okrug.
