Klijndijk

Klijndijk is a village in the municipality of Borger-Odoorn, in the province of Drenthe, Netherlands. It is located southeast of Stadskanaal and northwest of Valthermond.

The village originated as a peat colony, established for the purpose of extracting peat from the surrounding bogs. The name "Klijndijk" literally means "little dike," referring to a small dike built to protect the newly cultivated land from flooding.
