John Watson (footballer, born 1959)

John Watson (born August 28, 1959) is a former Scottish professional footballer who played as a defender.

Watson began his career with Dundee United, making his debut in the Scottish Premier Division. He was a member of the Dundee United squad that won the Scottish Premier Division title in 1983. He later moved to Heart of Midlothian, where he played for several seasons. He also had a spell with Motherwell before retiring from professional football. After his playing career, Watson was involved in youth coaching.
