Banc (Barcelona Metro)

Banc is a station on the Barcelona Metro, serving line L4. It is located in the El Gòtic neighborhood of the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The station is situated under Via Laietana, between Carrer Jonqueres and Carrer de l'Argenteria.

The station opened in 1976 as part of the then-named Line IV, later renumbered as L4. The name "Banc" (Catalan for "bank") refers to the proximity of several bank branches in the area, historically concentrated along Via Laietana. The station's platforms are relatively narrow and located deep underground, accessed by escalators and stairs. While not one of the busiest stations on the L4 line, it serves local residents, tourists visiting the Gothic Quarter, and commuters working in the nearby financial district.

Accessibility at Banc station is limited. There is no elevator access, making it unsuitable for people with mobility issues. Signage within the station is in both Catalan and Spanish. Connections to bus services are available near the station entrance on Via Laietana. The station's architecture is typical of Barcelona Metro stations constructed during the 1970s, featuring tilework and simple design elements.
