Jim Dunne

Jim Dunne (born in Dublin, Ireland) is a retired Irish footballer who played primarily as a left-back. He is best known for his long and successful career with Everton Football Club in England, during which he became a club legend and a key member of their title-winning team of the 1960s.

Dunne began his professional career with Shelbourne in Ireland before transferring to Everton in 1960. He quickly established himself in the first team and was renowned for his defensive capabilities, including his tackling, positional sense, and ability to read the game. He was also known for his versatility, occasionally filling in at other defensive positions.

During his time at Everton, Dunne won the Football League First Division title in the 1962-63 season and the FA Cup in 1966. He also represented the Republic of Ireland national team on numerous occasions.

After leaving Everton in 1969, Dunne played for Bolton Wanderers before retiring from professional football. He remains a respected figure in Everton's history and is remembered as one of the club's finest full-backs.
