Doug Clark (serial killer)

Doug Clark, also known as the "Sunset Strip Killer," is a Canadian serial killer convicted of the murders of six women in California and Washington between 1980 and 1982. He preyed on women he met in bars and nightclubs, often along the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.

Clark was born in 1947 in Ontario, Canada. He worked various jobs before becoming involved in petty crime. He later moved to the United States.

His modus operandi typically involved meeting women in bars, engaging in sexual activity, and then strangling them. He frequently posed the victims' bodies in sexually suggestive positions.

Clark was arrested in 1983 in Saskatchewan, Canada, following a lengthy investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies. He initially denied involvement in the murders but eventually confessed to six killings.

He was extradited to California and tried for three murders, for which he was convicted and sentenced to death. His death sentence was later commuted to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

He was also convicted in Washington state for the murder of a woman there and received another life sentence.

Clark remains incarcerated. His case is notable for its brutality and the multi-jurisdictional effort required to bring him to justice. He is considered one of Canada's most infamous serial killers.
